Thanks again for a wonderful trip to Berryessa.
You taught me a lot in one day and I really appreciate your willingness to share some great fishing holes with me.
My buddy and I went fishing Sunday and I caught 5 real nice fish. 4 in the Creek Channels outside the weed line and one on a steep drop off (transition) at 31 feet.
All very healthy fish going about 14 lbs again.
Caught them on the Mushroom Head with Oxblood Sweet Beaver and one on the Extreme Big Mama in Watermelon Red that I had left over from fishing with you.
My buddy was real impressed. No missed hook sets on Sunday. Those fish had sore lips :)
BTW- we stayed away from your honey hole.
Hope it pays off big for you next Sunday.
Will look forward to fishing with you again someday.

Rich,
I would like to thank you for the time you spent teaching me the tricks of the trade.
I learned more from you in the last month than I have learned in the 15+ years I have been bass fishing.
The manner in which you teach is easy to follow and remember.
I retire in Feb2007 and I am sure I will get to apply the techniques for finding big fish that you showed me.

Hi Rich,
I just thought I would write you and again thank you for a great guide trip on Lake Berryessa.
I truly appreciated your total desire to share with me your technical knowledge of bassfishing and focusing all your energy on making sure that I was getting the utmost out of your guiding me.
Please rest assured that my brain is still trying to file all the information you presented me yesterday!
I have walked away with information that you have shared with me and I truly feel that I can use this to prevent any future "Skunks" on that beautiful lake.
I had a long ride back home and got to think about the whole trip as a whole and the thing that kept coming back to me was how you made me feel so at ease fishing with you.
I put you and Dean Sault on the same level on my list of who has taken that extra step to help me learn how to catch Bass.
I am looking into the future in a guide trip on Clear Lake.
I have fished it a few times years ago but I think I would like to learn first hand on the areas and presentations I need to know to catch that double digit fish.

Big thanks for all your help this week! I had a lot of fun, and I learned
a lot about techniques I could only previously read about. I was telling my
family that I think California fisherman are simply more inventive than
the rest of the country, who just seem uptight, jealous, and ignorant.
I certainly hope we can go out and do some froggin' later this summer or
in early fall. If the planets align, I will be sure to call you. Again, thank
you for sharing your time and expertise. I will hit my home waters with an
endless stream of new ideas. Take care and pass along any tackle links you
are willing to share.

He is a great guy who will share all of his vast knowledge with you.

Tuesday August, 02 2005 I went on a guide trip on the Delta with Rich Thiel.
This was one of the most enjoyable days of fishing I have ever experienced.
The trip was also an excellent learning experience.
Rich did an excellent job of explaining how the fish relate to the current and how they
will position on the breaks. Rich is a real gentleman and puts you at ease about asking questions.
I was very confortable in his company.
I have been on other guide trips and learned far more on this trip than I did on all the others combined.
If you want to have a great day on the water and catch a lot of fish I highly recommend hiring Mr Rich Thiel.

I just like to say I had a lot of fun that day out on the Delta and I saw your Guide Service on Westernbass.com.
I never really said thank you, and Im saying it now its people like you Andy Cooch's and all 78 of the other
Pro's thats give me and all the other 78 teens a chance and a dream to look forward too.
After that day I know that I want to be a Tournament Angler and Im savin up for a boat
so I can reach for my dream.
Hope I see you next year at the Pro/Teen so you guys can make another kids dream come
true and thank you for a great day on the water, hopefully,
I can pay you back one day and take you out on the water.
